London City Opera to present "Carmen" at 澳门六合彩历史记录

MACOMB, IL -- The London City Opera's performance of "Carmen" will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28 in Western Hall on the 澳门六合彩历史记录 campus.
The London City Opera, formed by Martin McEvoy in 1994, has performed in extensive international tours, major music festivals and in theaters throughout the United Kingdom. They are the only company to receive awards from both the Arts Council of England and the British Foundation for the Arts in one season. The stop in Macomb is among more than 65 U.S. cities in the company's third NorthAmerican tour.
Based on a story by Prosper Merimee, "Carmen" is about man studying for the priesthood named Don Jose, a Basque from a respectable family. When he flees to join the army after killing a man, his mother follows to set up a marriage with an orphan named Micaela. After allowing the gypsy girl Carmen to escape from military escort, Jose is imprisoned. Upon his release, he finds that his senior officer is now his rival for Carmen's affections.
