Graduate Research Conference Winners Named

MACOMB, IL 鈥 The first Graduate Research Conference at 澳门六合彩历史记录 was held Feb. 7 as part of Graduate Research Week on campus.

The event featured presentations by 65 澳门六合彩历史记录 graduate students in the areas of artistic performances, research posters and research presentations. Awards were presented in each category, and this year's winners include:

Artistic Performances
鈥 First place 鈥 Dallas Milholland and Emily Terrell (Theatre: Acting), 鈥淭he Pebble Project: The Process to Product Journey鈥
鈥 Second place 鈥 Kristin Katsu (Theatre: Directing), 鈥淎rts Advocacy: A Dance鈥

Research Posters
鈥 First place 鈥 Bawk Mai Aung (Health Sciences), 鈥淐omparative Study on Road Traffic Injuries in Myanmar and Thailand鈥
鈥 Second place 鈥 Terri Tobias (Biological Sciences), 鈥淎re All Seed Endophytes Beneficial for Plant Growth?鈥
鈥 Third place 鈥 Ashley Simmons (Experimental Psychology), 鈥淧renatal Oxytocin Exposure and ADHD鈥

Research Presentations
鈥 First place 鈥 Amber Schorg (Biological Sciences), 鈥淪eed Bank Composition in Drawdown Areas of Pool 18, Upper Mississippi River鈥
鈥 Second place 鈥 Zachary C. Roth (Experimental Psychology), 鈥淭he Influence of Agreeableness on Prejudice and the Moderating Role of Self-Monitoring鈥
鈥 Third place 鈥 Kristyne Gilbert Bradford (English), 鈥淭he Making of Knowledge in Art: Case Studies of Fiber Artists鈥

This year's awards reception was sponsored by the 澳门六合彩历史记录 College of Arts and Sciences and the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Event sponsors included the 澳门六合彩历史记录 Billing and Receivables Office, the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Research, College of Business and Technology, College of Education and Human Services, the 澳门六合彩历史记录 Department of Psychology, the First Year Experience committee, Human Resources, the Institute for Environmental Studies, the Scholarship Office, the Undergraduate Admissions Office, the University Bookstore and University Relations.

The second annual Graduate Research Conference is scheduled for Friday, March 6, 2015.
