Hagler to Speak at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Art Gallery April 9

MACOMB, IL – Artist, teacher and writer Elana Hagler will speak at the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Art Gallery Wednesday, April 9 about "Writing About Art: Words that Help and Words that Hurt."

The talk begins at 4 p.m. and will be followed by a general discussion. Hagler will talk about her own writing in addition to the works of other writers and explore issues that arise relative to writing about art.

A current teacher at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA, Hagler is also a staff writer for the art blog, "Painting Perceptions." Her art work is also included in the current °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Art Gallery exhibit, "Painting the Familiar and the Ordinary: Contemporary Still Life," which is on display through Saturday, April 19.

Hagler's presentation is co-sponsored by the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Department of English and Journalism and the Liberal Arts and Sciences program. The exhibition and related programming are sponsored by support from the Performing Arts Society (PAS).
