Quinn Announces $5 Million Investment for 澳门六合彩历史记录-QC Riverfront campus Phase III Design

MOLINE, IL -- Gov. Pat Quinn announced today (Oct. 24) a $5 million investment for the Phase III of the 澳门六合彩历史记录-Quad Cities Riverfront campus in Moline. The funding comes from Illinois Jobs Now! capital construction program.

鈥淭he Quad Cities is a great place to live and work, and the 澳门六合彩历史记录 Quad Cities Campus will continue to grow and prepare students for the in-demand careers of today and tomorrow,鈥� Quinn said.

The $5 million investment announced by Gov. Quinn will fund Phase III design work. The final phase of the Riverfront campus is comprised of an 85,000 square foot academic building that will house classrooms, labs, high-bay specialized laboratories, offices and student resources and services. The total estimated project cost is $34.6 million.

"This is another great day for 澳门六合彩历史记录. We appreciate the support of Governor Pat Quinn and all of our legislators for the many projects and programs that further improve our great university. By working together, we continue to move forward to provide the residents of the Quad Cities region access to a quality public higher education,鈥� said 澳门六合彩历史记录 President Jack Thomas.

A grand opening of Phase II was held last month. Phase II facilities officially opened for the first day of classes in August. The first building -- Phase I -- on the Riverfront campus, which is the former John Deere Tech Center, opened January 2012.

"An initial programming study has been completed, which allows for the design work to be conducted efficiently and be ready for construction funding. We are thankful for the opportunity to proudly serve our host communities, regions and students with space that supports expanded educational opportunity and academic excellence," said Vice President for Quad Cities and Planning Joe Rives. "Thank you to Governor Quinn, President Thomas and everyone involved in this mission-critical expansion."
