MACOMB, IL – °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Center for Best Practices in Early Childhood Education EI Enrollment Program Coordinator Carrie Woodside has been named the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for October 2021.
Woodside began working at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ in July 1999 as a faculty assistant in the Center for Best Practices. In February 2019, her position was transferred to civil service and her current title.
According to Woodside's nominator, she is an important member of the team who goes above and beyond to achieve project goals. Her best qualities include her ability to understand the goal of the project, her skill at problem solving and organization and her sense of humor.
"She helped two new staff members gain familiarity with °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ and the office during the pandemic," said one of her nominators. "She is not only a colleague but a friend to all, and a mentor to many students. She has distinguished herself as the point of contact and expert in navigating the state of Illinois' enrollment systems that support the Illinois Part C Early Intervention System. She has earned respect not just from her office colleagues, but also from early intervention providers and officials statewide."
In August 2010, the Goldfarbs established an endowment to permanently fund the University's Civil Service Employee of the Month award. The Goldfarb endowment is used to fund a $100 award for the recipient of the Civil Service Employee of the Month, as well as a plaque.
The °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Foundation provides a $500 stipend for the Civil Service Employee of the Year.
