°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Celebrates '24 Student Employment Week

MACOMB, IL — °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ recently celebrated the 2024 Student Employment Week by awarding the many achievements of student employees. This celebration showcased the dedication and contributions of student workers across various departments.

Nakyah Smith, a senior Law Enforcement, and Justice Administration (LEJA) major from Chicago, IL, was the winner of the Student Employment Week. Nominated by Joe Roselieb from the Go West Security department. Roselieb was impressed with her service and commitment to her work. She was awarded a $75 °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Bookstore Gift Card along with a professional headshot session with Sarah Ritter, a University photographer, capturing her recognition.

Following closely as the first runner-up is Kalista (Kali) Becker, a sophomore Sociology major from Lombard, IL, who serves in the Residence Life department as a Resident Assistant (RA). Recognized by Brooke McDaniel for her dedication, Becker received a $50 °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Bookstore gift card and a professional headshot.

Tyler Raspante, a senior Forensic Chemistry major from Mokena, IL, took second runner-up. Tyler serves in the Office of Student Engagement, nominated by Taylor Duncan for his contributions to the office. He was awarded a $25 °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Bookstore gift card and a professional headshot session.

Additionally, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ congratulates Megan Landes, recognized as the 2024 Student Employment Supervisor. Landes, from the Geographic Information Systems Department, was nominated by Emma LeMasters for her leadership and support of students.

Along with these students, many students often go without recognition for their hard work and dedication and make a difference on both the Quad Cities and Macomb campuses daily. Being a student supervisor also an important role in the mentorship and career-building skills as they prepare to leave the University and prepare to start or continue their careers.
