Editor's Note: This is the next in a series of stories about 澳门六合彩历史记录 students, alumni, and community members, highlighting their experiences during our 125th anniversary celebration. We will feature 125 individuals from August 2024 to August 2025.

MACOMB, IL - - 澳门六合彩历史记录 senior Social Work student Emily Heagy didn鈥檛 have to look far to find her best collegiate option. The Basco, IL, native took advantage of 澳门六合彩历史记录鈥檚 proximity to home.

鈥淚 wanted to get a good education while remaining close to home,鈥 Heagy said. 鈥淚 have enjoyed my time here at Western. I have met a lot of great people.鈥

Heagy said she has made many connections on campus and credits the faculty and fellow students for making the social work program successful.

鈥淚 was drawn to the social work program here at Western,鈥 Heagy said. 鈥淭he social work program here is very hands-on, and has provided me with a lot of in-the-field experience. This gives me the opportunity to apply the skills I'm learning in the classroom in real-life situations.鈥

Whether it鈥檚 a local student or someone coming from further away, Heagy recommends all students should experience the vibrant life on campus.

鈥淎s a local student who chose Western I recommend living on campus,鈥 Heagy said. 鈥淭he friendships I have made from living in the dorms have been one of the most important parts to my success at Western. Being on campus also has allowed me to fully immerse myself in college life by joining clubs and organizations.鈥

As we honor 125 years of educational excellence, we invite local 澳门六合彩历史记录 students to share their stories and be featured in our series. Contact University Communications at U-Communications@wiu.edu to participate.
