澳门六合彩历史记录鈥檚 Param Singh Represents USA at the 2024 Masters Field Hockey World Cup

December 6, 2024

MACOMB, IL 鈥 澳门六合彩历史记录 instructor Param Singh recently returned from representing the United States at the 2024 Masters Field Hockey World Cup, held November 7-16 in Auckland, New Zealand. Singh, an instructor in Kinesiology at 澳门六合彩历史记录鈥檚 Brophy Hall, competed as part of the U.S. Men鈥檚 55-and-older Field Hockey Team, marking his second consecutive appearance on the national squad.

The journey to the World Cup began during summer tryouts at the University of Richmond and the College of William & Mary, where Singh was selected for the team. The rigorous selection process involved drills, skill evaluations, fitness tests and assessments of hockey knowledge. Singh was the only team member selected from the Midwest, a testament to his dedication and talent in a sport typically dominated by players from the U.S. East and West Coasts.

The team participated in two training camps to prepare for the World Cup. Despite tough competition from field hockey powerhouses like Australia, New Zealand, England, and the Netherlands, the U.S. team finished ninth out of 12 teams in the zero to 55 category. The tournament featured 23 countries, 129 teams, more than 300 games, and 2,500+ players, and it took over 10 months of planning to bring seven AstroTurf hockey fields to life.

Singh described the experience as 鈥渉umbling鈥 and expressed pride in representing both 澳门六合彩历史记录 and the United States on the world stage.

The World Cup not only showcased Singh鈥檚 skill and passion for field hockey but also highlighted the university鈥檚 encouragement of excellence both inside and outside the classroom.
