Go West Recognizes Student Workers

MACOMB, IL - - Several °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ students were honored on December 2 for their work as Go West Security Officers during the fall semester.
- Officer Ariella Ducoing, a sophomore Law Enforcement and Justice Administration (LEJA) major from Moline, IL was promoted to Master Sergeant.
- Master Sergeant Olivia Hank, a senior Law Enforcement and Justice Administration (LEJA) major from Washington, IL received the 'Dedication of Excellence Award' and the 'Years of Service Award' for her dedication to Go West Security throughout her time at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼.
- Officer Ian Thomas, a junior Forensic Chemistry major from Dixon, IL received the 'Perseverance Award’ for demonstrating exceptional resilience and determination in the face of organizational challenges and adversity, often going above and beyond despite difficult circumstances.
- Officer Alyssa Schliephake, a freshman Law Enforcement and Justice Administration (LEJA) major from West Chicago, IL received the ‘Probation Award’ for passing her probationary period & was awarded ‘Guard of the Semester.’
- Officer Alan Cuautle, a sophomore Law Enforcement and Justice Administration (LEJA) major from West Chicago received the ‘Probation Award’ for passing his probationary period & was awarded ‘Guard of the Semester.’
"I'm very proud of this group of students and their dedication over the fall semester," Assistant Vice President for Student Success and Go West Security Advisor Joseph Roselieb said. "This group of students works extensively behind the scenes and is a tremendous asset to °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼. They are a wonderful group of individuals and true examples of what we want Leathernecks to be."
The Go West Security Program, which began in 2005, was created to provide students with hands-on, practicum-driven experiences while also serving the University and Macomb communities. Go West Security was used exclusively for security services on the MCPT bus transit system until August 2024, when it and °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼’s Concert Safety Corps merged. Go West Security now services MCPT transit and various events, activities and sporting competitions on campus.
