MACOMB, IL 鈥� Carrie Keeney, a collection specialist in 澳门六合彩历史记录鈥檚 Billing and Receivables Office, has been named the February Civil Service Employee of the Month.
Keeney鈥檚 nominators said she has the 鈥渧alues, assertiveness and dedication鈥� to receive the monthly honor.
鈥淪he is certainly knowledgeable of not only her department, but processes University-wide,鈥� according to her nominators. 鈥淪he is positive, patient and encouraging with students. She works well in a team and always looks for opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline processes for student convenience.鈥�
With a 鈥渟pecial place in her heart for our veterans,鈥� Keeney comes to work early, misses lunches or stays late to help students. She is responsible for certifying the student benefits for the University鈥檚 veterans.
鈥淗er dedication to the students and the positive relationship with Veterans Resource Center has undoubtedly improved these sometimes difficult processes for our veterans,鈥� her nominators said.
Keeney also has the 鈥渄aunting鈥� task of collecting delinquent debt on the University鈥檚 behalf.
鈥淪tudents and families are not always happy when they are contacting her, but she has a gift for listening and responding in a professional manner,鈥� according to her nominators. 鈥淭his gift can transform a potentially negative call into a positive encounter with the University.鈥�
Keeney began working at 澳门六合彩历史记录 in August 1992 as a cashier II in the cashier鈥檚 office. In June 1996 she was named a financial aid adviser II in the cashier鈥檚 office and on Feb. 5, 2004, she was named to her current position.
