American novelist Lev Grossman will read from the last novel in his trilogy, "The Magician's Land" at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 in the University Union Sandburg Theatre as part of the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Department of English and Journalism's Fred Ewing Case and Lola Austin Case Writer-in-Residence program.

The event is open free to the public.

grossman book coverGrossman is known for his novels, "Warp," "Codex" and "The Magicians." He has also written for publications such as the New York Times, Wired, Salon, Entertainment Weekly and the Wall Street Journal.

His novel "The Magicians" has been heralded in reviews as, "The Catcher in the Rye for devotees of alternative universes." It was awarded the 2010 Alex Award.

In 2011, Grossman received the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer.

The Fred Ewing Case and Lola Austin Case Writer-in-Residence supports bringing national writers of poetry and fiction to Western each year.
