English Graduate student from the Quad Cities campus, Anne Vantieghem. won the First Prize Award- Podium Presentation Category, at the Tenth Annual Graduate Research Conference at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼.

  • 9:30-10 am: Welcome Breakfast (student lounge)
  • 10-11 am: Communities in Practice
  • 11:15 am - 12:30 pm: Reframing Perspectives on Film/TV and Literature
  • 12:30 - 1:30 pm: Lunch (student lounge)
  • 1:45 - 2:45 pm: Feminist and Queer Theories in Our Culture

The English Graduate Program invites graduate students from all stages in the program to present their research or work in progress in panel discussions on any areas of English Studies.

English undergraduate students are also welcome to join and present their best paper or share their work-in-progress.

Submission Information

Please email a 250 word abstract to ego@wiu.edu by March 7, 2024.

Paper presentations should be approximately 15 minutes in length.

Annual Fall EGO Conference

The EGO Conference gives students an opportunity to present papers they have been working on and gain experience in a conference setting.

Information for the fall 2024 conference will be posted as it becomes available.

Jan. 26, 2024 - Round Table discussion with English Alumni: Ishimine Goins, Lucas Marshall and Dakota Carlson.

Feb. 2, 2023 - English Graduate students enjoyed a Round Table Discussion with alumni Meghan O'Toole, Sheldon Gaskell, Maureen Sullivan, and Vaneice Williams.
