New Release: °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Students Invited To Enter University-Wide Writing Contests. °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ undergraduates are invited to submit their stories, poems and works of literary nonfiction for the Lois C. Bruner Literary Nonfiction Award and the Cordell Larner Award in Fiction or Poetry. The annual contests recognize excellence in student writing, regardless of major.

News Release: Poet to visit °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Creative Writers Society. °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼'s Creative Writers Society will host poet and professor Tanure Ojaide Monday, March 25 through Wednesday, March 27. The highlight of his visit will be a lecture, "Publishing in a Global World," at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 in the University Union Fox Room. Ojaide will serve as the Faculty Development lecturer presenting "Culture, Society and Politics in Modern African Literature" to faculty at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 in Stipes Hall 501. From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. there will be a discussion session with the African Students Association at the Gwendolyn Brooks Cultural Center. All events are open free to the public. A book signing will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 27 at Sullivan Taylor Coffeehouse in Macomb in cooperation with Copperfield bookstore followed by a public poetry reading. The public is invited to bring their own poetry to recite.
