About Me
I have been interested in exercise science since I was in high school and have been part of the field since my first day as an undergraduate student at Penn State University. 聽My non-academic professional experience is quite diverse and I have worked in many areas of our field, including ergonomics, cardiovascular and athletic performance testing and evaluation, and strength and conditioning. 聽During my doctoral work I became very interested in motor behavior and the changes in movement capabilities that occur with aging and I have published multiple articles in journals such at Physical and Occupational Therapy in Geriatrics, the Journal of Applied Gerontology, and Research Quarterly in Exercise and Sport.
I am passionate about scuba diving and the science behind safe diving practices. 聽I am a certified scuba instructor as well as trained technical diver. 聽I have traveled extensively and participated in diving expeditions around the world, including Australia, Central America, Iceland, and Greenland. 聽I am particularly interested in cold water diving and its effects on human physiology. 聽My diving research has been presented in many forums and I have published research in the International Journal of Aquatic Research and Education, Sources - Journal of Underwater Education, 聽and the journal International Maritime Health.
