BFA in Art - Teacher Education

Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art - Teacher Education Option is an education degree based on the professional degree in the visual arts. The structure, content, and time requirements of this degree enable students to develop the range of knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to teach art at the K-12 levels. This degree prepares students to earn K-12 teacher certification in the State of Illinois.

The BFA in Art - Teacher Education does not require a portfolio for admission into the program. Students will be accepted to °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ as a BFA Art - Teachers Education (TEd) major.

The teacher education curriculum consists of the University General Education requirements, a 60- semester hour major program which includes: the Art core, a full range of specialized studio art courses, art history courses, art methods and theory courses; and the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ College of Education and Human Services requirements.
