Littlefield to Speak Thursday at 澳门六合彩历史记录

MACOMB, IL 鈥 New York Times best-selling author Bruce Littlefield, who has been called the "Modern Day Erma Bombeck," will speak at 澳门六合彩历史记录 Thursday, Oct. 18.

Littlefield's speech, "Arming Yourself for a Winning Career," will be in the University Union Lincoln Room, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The presentation, sponsored by the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society, the 澳门六合彩历史记录 Department of English and Journalism and the Visiting Lectures Committee, is open free to the public.

As a lifestyle expert, Littlefield has appeared on numerous television and radio shows and has written numerous books, including his latest, "Garage Sale America" and "My Two Moms: Lessons of Love, Strength and What Makes a Family."

Littlefield began his career as a model but later received his master's degree in journalism from New York University.

In addition to his writing, Littlefield owns two restaurants, "The Rosendale Cement Company," and "The Alamo," and he has done design work on several homes around the country. He has also received numerous awards including the Audie Award for best business book, a Christopher Award for humanitarian journalism and The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences named his master's thesis "Best News/Public Affairs Program."

At Western, Littlefield will talk about how achieving a satisfying career is often about survival of the fittest, "a war of both determination and wits, talent and luck 鈥 and from using social media to writing the simple thank-you note."
