A Week at the Improv

MACOMB, IL -- Is your offspring a performer? Consider °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼'s "Acting Right Away" workshop for a constructive and educational summer activity. The intensive master class in the study of improvisational theatre techniques, will be held Sunday - Friday, July 15-20 on the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ campus.
Offered to high school juniors and seniors, participants will increase their understanding of how improvisation relates to performance work, gain ability with basic improvisation tools and improve their "stage presence." Using theatre games they will build a sense of ease and confidence toward their performance and improve their "timing" and ability to relate to others on-stage. Students will also be exposed to advanced theatre vocabulary, investigate professional actor training theories and have performance opportunities.
The registration fee is $329 including tuition, supplies, all extracurricular activities, lodging and meals. Commuter students are not accepted. Students are admitted on a first-come, first-served basis, limit of 24.
Participants are supervised by program faculty and carefully selected resident counselors to assume a safe and enjoyable experience.
The program is sponsored by °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼'s School of Extended and Continuing Education and the theatre department.
