MACOMB, IL - °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Library Specialist Noelle Ebert has been named the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for December.

Ebert was hired on the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼-Quad Cities campus on Jan. 12, 2011 and currently holds the library specialist position.

According to Ebert's nominator, she was the "key individual in making the move from one campus to the other seamless."

"She routinely goes above and beyond normal job requirements and consistently volunteers for committee work," said her nominator. "Her enthusiasm for the libraries division and for °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ is unrivaled. Many students and faculty ask for her specifically, because they know they will get the best answer and the best help. She is approachable, knowledgeable and friendly. The Quad Cities library would be lost without her."

Ebert's nominator said she was a standout hostess for a special event surrounding the Leibovitz Special Collection.

In August 2010, the Goldfarbs established an endowment to permanently fund the University's Civil Service Employee of the Month award. The Goldfarb endowment is used to fund a $100 award for the recipient of the Civil Service Employee of the Month, as well as a plaque.

The °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Foundation provides a $500 stipend for the Civil Service Employee of the Year. Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for the monthly recognition should contact Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) representative Alisha Barnett at AA-Barnett@wiu.edu.
