MACOMB, IL – High school senior Livia Way, of Plano (IL), has been awarded a President's Scholarship, which covers four years of tuition, fees, and a residence hall room and meal plan at the school.

"I selected Western Because of its great reputation as a law enforcement university, and because it is the only university in Illinois that offers a bachelor's degree in forensic chemistry," said Way.

At Western, Way hopes to major in forensic chemistry and minor in criminalistics. Her future career goals are to work in a crime lab and the FBI.

In high school, Way participated in 4-H, the drama and chemistry clubs, concert and marching bands and Disabilities Reach Everyone, Awareness Matters (DREAM).

While attending °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼, she also hopes to join the Humane Society service association and the Muggles for Magic club.

To qualify for the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ President's Scholarship, students must have a minimum ACT score of 32 and have already received °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼'s Centennial Commitment Scholarship. The scholarship decision is also weighted by the proof of volunteer and community service.
