Louden Named March Employee of the Month
March 20, 2017
MACOMB, IL – °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Centennial Honors College Office Support Specialist Angie Louden has been named the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for March.
Louden was hired as an office support specialist in educational leadership in November 2012, and was promoted to office manager in student activities in August 2015. She was reassigned to her current position in June 2016.
According to her nominator, Louden has quickly learned the "intricacies of recruiting and tracking Honors students, making the office's recruiting efforts more effective."
"She discovered that by using a different recruiting list, the office would expand its lit of eligible transfer students, which resulted in a larger group of incoming transfers in Fall 2016," said her nominator. "She is a tremendous ambassador for her academic unit, and to a larger extent, to the entire University."
In August 2010, the Goldfarbs established and endowment to permanently fund the University's Civil Service Employee of the month award. The Goldfarb endowment is used to fund a $100 award for the recipient of the Civil Service Employee of the Month, as well as a plaque.
The °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Foundation provides a $500 stipend for the Civil Service Employee of the Year. Western faculty, and staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for the monthly recognition should contact Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) representative Connie Lincoln at CM-Lincoln@wiu.edu.
