Feld Named College of Business & Technology Interim Dean

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - Tara Feld, associate dean of the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ College of Business and Technology (CBT), has been named interim dean of the College, effective Nov. 1.

Feld has served as associate dean and Master of Business Administration (MBA) director for the CBT since 2019. As associate dean, Feld's responsibilities include oversight of college-wide curriculum management and assessment activities; support of AACSB accreditation efforts and corporate outreach to build industry partnerships, fostering opportunities for students and enhancing program currency and relevance.

As the MBA Director, Feld oversees program operations, supports student success and ensures that the curriculum meets evolving professional and industry needs. During her time as MBA Director, Feld initiated enhancements to the MBA program with new concentrations in Health Services Administration and Marketing providing students with targeted expertise, addressing the growing demand for skilled professionals in healthcare management and advanced marketing strategies. These improvements ensure that graduates are equipped with industry-relevant knowledge and skills, boosting their employability and supporting career advancement in a competitive, evolving job market.

"Dr. Feld's experience in the CBT is wide-ranging, and she brings to the position a significant number of successes, including her oversight of our growing MBA program. I have no doubt she will hit the ground running," Interim Provost and Academic Vice President Mark Mossman said.

Feld joined °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ in 1998 as an Economics faculty member. She previously served as the chair of the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Economics and Decision Sciences department (2018-19) and acting director of the School of Management and Marketing (2021-22).

Feld is currently the vice president of the Alternatives Board of Directors and a °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ representative for the Governance Board for Advancing Smart Logistics. She has also served as a member of the President's Roundtable Advisory Board, faculty senate vice chair and member, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ representative on the Illinois Articulation Initiative Business Panel and a member of the President's Executive Institute.

Feld received her Doctorate of Philosophy in Economics from the University of South Carolina and her bachelor's degree in economics and international business from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, FL.
