January 11, 2008
MACOMB, IL -- Annette Davila, applications programmer II in University Information Management Systems (UIMS), has been named the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ January Civil Service Employee of the Month.
According to Davila's nominators, as part of her daily responsibilities, Davila works with the Financial Aid Office to program "every aspect of financial aid, including federal loans and grants, employment and all state financial aid programs. Annette has to handle a long 'to-do' list involving all types of financial aid. She is able to juggle all of the 'to-do' items and switch between different financial aid programs on a daily basis. She does so with a smile and a great attitude despite the sometimes stressful responsibilities."
"Annette has worked closely with financial aid advisers and staff to create new programs which has streamlined the financial aid process, which in turn benefits students and families," her nominators added. "Her extra attention to detail greatly enhances the information available to financial aid staff, billing and receivables personnel and students."
Davila began working as an admissions/records officer I for the Office of the Registrar at Western in June 1993. She was promoted to an admissions/records officer II in 1994 and was reallocated to a microcomputer specialist II in 1996. Davila was promoted to an applications programmer I for UIMS in 1997 and was reclassified to her current position in 2003.
"Annette's diligence and her dedication to getting the job done efficiently and accurately is worthy of recognition," said Laura Caldwell. "Her commitment to her job is another indication of the high quality employees we have working at Western."
Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for this recognition should contact Caldwell at 309/298-1917 or e-mail
