MACOMB, IL -- Fred Adair, Physical Plant Landscape Maintenance grounds foreman, has been named the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ September Civil Service Employee of the Month.

According to Adair's nominator, "Fred is dedicated to service. He is typically the first one to arrive to open up the shop and help get the staff prepared for the day. He is always open to spending off-duty hours to make the campus accessible and safe for those who use sidewalks around campus. Fred has an eye for safety and is a true professional."

Adair began working at Western July 1979 as a groundsworker.

"Fred's professionalism, dedication and willingness to go the extra mile are admirable traits and make him an outstanding employee," said Greg Phelps, Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) interim public relations representative. "We are pleased to present the September award to Fred, who exemplifies a higher standard for employees."

Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for this recognition should contact Phelps at
