°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Band Showcase February 22-24

MACOMB, IL - - The 15th annual Band Showcase, featuring the York Community High School Band from Elmhurst, directed by Ron Polancich; the Naperville North Wind Ensemble, co-directed by John Noworyta and Dan Moore; and the Macomb High School Symphonic Band, directed by David Wetmore; will be held Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 22-24 at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼.

"These bands represent the finest concert bands in Illinois," said Showcase organizer and °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Bands Director Jon Dugle.

Band members will attend master classes and sectionals taught by °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ music department faculty and guest conductor Dr. Bruce Moss, director of bands at Bowling Green State University; recitals; and concerts.

The °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Symphonic Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dugle, will present a concert at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23 in the Browne Hall Hainline Theatre. The concert will feature °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ saxophone professor John Vana performing the "Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Concert Band" by Karel Husa, guest conductor Moss and graduate student conductor Gregg Perkins from Blandinsville.

The Showcase will conclude with the honors bands concert at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 in Hainline Theatre.
