Women's Studies Minor
Students who minor in Women's Studies develop the skill to perceive and understand how sex and gender contribute to our experiences and roles in the world. Women’s Studies students learn that both men’s and women’s interactions with their social and political environments is influenced by their sex, and their experiences can be further affected by their race, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
The need for feminist scholars and activists has only become more culturally relevant in recent years. Its importance permeates many occupations, from law to education to business. Furthermore, a minor in Women's Studies allows our students to bring critical thinking skills and an understanding of women's lived experience to a variety of career fields, such as law enforcement, social work, political science, psychology, sociology, fine arts, non-profit administration, nursing, and business.
