Alice Melkumian joined the department in the fall of 2003, after receiving her PhD in economics from West Virginia University. Specializing in financial and monetary economics, her current research is focused on the opportunity cost that investors incur while using different non-optimal portfolio strategies. Dr. Melkumian has published in the Journal of Applied Economics, Eastern Economic Journal, Journal of Financial and Economic Practice, and has a forthcoming article in the Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance.
