The main Malpass Library building at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ houses more than a million cataloged volumes and contains seating space for over 1,300 library users. A central reference area on the main floor provides easy access to information through both printed and electronic reference material.

The library is a government information depository for both federal and state documents. A large legal collection is also available. The library maintains more than 56,000 print and electronic journal subscriptions in its periodical collection. The archives area of the main library serves as an official regional depository for public records of courthouses and city halls in the 16 counties surrounding °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼. The library houses many unique collections related to the west-central Illinois region and beyond. The digital commons offers a full array of listening and viewing facilities. The library's two computer classrooms (pdf) may be reserved for University-related instructional programs.

In addition to the main Malpass Library, there are three branch libraries: the Music Library, on the first floor of Sallee Hall; the Curriculum Library, in Horrabin Hall; and the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼-QC Library, at the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Quad Cities campus in Moline, Illinois.
