Motorist Assistance Program (MAP)

The Motorist Assistance Program (MAP) is one of the services provided by the Parking Services Division of the Office of Public Safety at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼. MAP is designed to provide assistance to students, faculty, staff and visitors experiencing vehicle problems while at the University.

If you need the services of MAP, call Public Safety at (309) 298-1949. Public Safety is located in Mowbray Hall on Murray Street across the street from the University Union. We offer this service free of charge for a vehicle parked on campus.
The MAP trucks are easily recognized with the MAP logo printed on the sides of the three gray parking trucks with toppers driven by parking agents. There are three parking agents working days and evenings. This service is only offered during the working hours of a parking agent. While not trained mechanics, they will try to assist you in:

  • Jump starting a car battery
  • Unlocking a car
  • Providing a gas can and/or transporting you to a local service station to obtain gas
  • Inflating a tire
