University of Mannheim Summer Programs
The University of Mannheim is located in Mannheim’s palace, the largest baroque palace in Germany. During the Summer, they offer programs for Business students and students who want to improve their German language skills.Ìý All Summer programs at the University of Mannheim are limited to students at their partner universities.

Entry Requirements

Current passport processing times areÌý6-9
weeks.Ìý Plan accordingly to avoid issues obtaining your visa, airine tickets, and other necessary items for travel.Ìý Failure to receive your passport in time can lead to postponement or cancellation of your program.
Visa:Ìý A visa is not required for US citizens.
Non-US citizens may need to apply for a student visa before entering Germany. Visa requirements can be found on the website of theÌý.
Traveling to Germany without your student visa can lead to denied entry to Germany, forced removal from your program, and financial consequences.
Health Insurance
It is University policy that you must have international health insurance for the time you are abroad.Ìý Only two options are approved to meet this requirement:

Walking/mobility/travel - Expect more walking than on-campus.Ìý It is a mixture of urban (pavement/concrete) and natural (grass/dirt) terrain, including uneven/hilly terrain and up/down flights of stairs.Ìý Some historic sites and tourist areas have limited handicapped accessibility.Ìý Sidewalks in these areas can be narrow with uneven surfaces.Ìý

Academics
Business Summer School
Students in the Business Summer School at the University of Mannheim take 1 classes per module, equaling 3 sh at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼Ìý Three (3) modules are offered; students may participate in more than one module.
Summer Academy
Students in the Summer Academy at the University of Mannheim take 2 classes, equaling 6 sh at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼.Ìý One class is German language, the other is a series of workshops and seminars on German culture.
Courses are graded on a 4 point scale with letter grades matching those at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ (+/- A to F).
