Mission
The Multicultural Center (MCC) aims to advance the goals of educational, social, and cultural awareness, by providing resources to enhance the campus community鈥檚 understanding and appreciation of all identities. The Multicultural Center promotes intercultural learning, advocacy for historically marginalized students, and celebrates diversity to foster a welcoming and culturally inclusive environment.
Within MCC, the cultural/identity based Centers provide a "Home Away From Home" for many students and spaces can be used by any 澳门六合彩历史记录 student or reserved by registered student organizations. The Centers also provide educational opportunities and student development through a variety of events and programs throughout the academic year. The Centers complement the University鈥檚 mission of empowering students, faculty, and staff to lead dynamic and diverse communities.
Vision
At the Multicultural Center, we will continue to uplift and empower students through identity-based student programming, legacy events, and leadership opportunities in order to support students of color and gender and sexually diverse students. By exploring intersectional identities, we will create a culture of understanding through meaningful dialogue. The Multicultural Center will strengthen partnerships with students, faculty, staff, and community members in order to meet the needs of our diverse student population.
Pillars
Belonging: The Multicultural Center provides a sense of 鈥渉ome鈥 and belonging, especially for individuals with marginalized identities.
Leadership: The Multicultural Center encourages student leadership and involvement through our student organizations in order to enhance multicultural awareness across campus.
Celebration: The Multicultural Center celebrates the rich diversity of our students and the legacy of our predecessors.
Advocacy: The Multicultural Center advocates for the concerns of students with marginalized identities and inspires students to advocate for their own needs and the needs of others.
