Student Computer Recommendations

The following recommendations are for students聽only. Recommendations for employees can be found under Faculty/Staff Resources.

University Technology recommends the following minimum requirements for student-owned computers brought to campus.聽The uTech Support Center has certified Apple and Dell technicians on staff that can repair or assist with all Dell and Apple general repair needs .

Minimum Computer Recommendations

We recommend that all computers听(laptops/notebooks and desktop computers)聽have聽the following minimum specifications:

    • Microsoft Windows聽Running Windows 10 or later, Intel Core i5 or higher processor; 12 GB RAM, 256 GB M2 or SSD (minimum) hard drive; Intel/AMD/nVideo (dedicated/discreet for laptops), Gigabit Ethernet network card/adaptor running the latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
    • Apple MacOS聽Running Mac OSX 12 or later, Intel Core i5 or higher processor; 12 GB RAM, 256 GB M2 or SSD (minimum) hard drive; Intel/AMD/nVideo (dedicated/discreet for laptops), Gigabit Ethernet network card/adaptor running the latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
