2010 Town & Gown Award

Lin Stults2010 Town & Gown and Honorary Alumni Award recipients

To recognize her contributions to °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ and the Macomb community, Lin Stults has been named the recipient of the 2010 Town & Gown Award from the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Alumni Association.

The Town & Gown Award, presented to an individual who has provided exceptional service to °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ and the community, was announced at the Sept. 23 °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Founders' Day celebration.

Stults is the owner of Engraving by Lin in downtown Macomb. A graduate of Western High School, Stults learned the engraving trade while working at Arrasmith Jewelry. When the jewelry shop closed in 1979, Stults opened her own business and for the past 31 years, has provided trophies, custom ribbons, plaques, nametags and more. Stults is an avid supporter of Tri-States Audio Information Services, Tri States Public Radio, Intercollegiate Athletics and many more, giving of her time, her services and financial support.

In the community, Stults is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Macomb Public Library District, and also serves as a board member for the Macomb Altrusa Club, the Salvation Army and Volunteer NOW. She has been involved with the Dickens on the Square Planning Committee since 1994 and has volunteered her time to assist with Macomb Downtown Development and Macomb Area Chamber of Commerce activities. She joined the Macomb Rotary Club in 2002 and transferred to the Macomb Centennial Morning Rotary Club in 2007. She completes a long line of Paul Harris Fellows, starting with her grandfather Barton Boyle; father, Hap; mother, Margaret; sister, Diane; and brother, Jim.

"Lin is the perfect example of someone who has the best interest of the Macomb and °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ communities at heart in everything she does, making the Town & Gown Award a fitting tribute to her volunteerism and commitment to Western and Macomb," said Amy Spelman, director of Alumni Relations.
