Tips for Advertise Your Departmental Student Club Meetings & Events

  • Add your public event to the College of Education & Human Services and the University Calendar so that it pops up on theÌý Ìý °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ website,Ìý COEHS website Ìýand onto the list of events as folks do the centralÌýsignon to log into email, WesternOnline, etc.Ìý Click for here for the submission formÌý/coehs/secure/event_request/
  • Add your student event toÌý Ìý Ìýby using the Event Registration option -Ìý Ìý . ÌýContact the Office of Student Engagement for assistance.
  • Print posters (handouts) and request posting permission in each building. For Horrabin Hall, connect with Lisa Turke in the Dean's Office (Horrabin Hall 117).
  • Send an email campus announcement. Student Announcements are sent on Mondays as a single weekly digest email combine listings of timely relevant information for the campus in a concise format.ÌýSubmissions must be received before noon on the preceding Friday.Ìý Ìý

  • Submit your graphic file toÌý jm-bisbee@wiu.edu Ìýfor the College of Education & Human Services (COEHS) digital bulletin boards (tv screens) in Brophy, Currens, Horrabin, and Knoblauch Halls. Here are a few tips!
Ìý
File Type: ÌýPNG or MP4 file (no longer than 20 seconds for the individual MP4 files); PDF files don't work because the softwareÌýwe use is for graphic files.
Ìý
Graphic Size & Orientation: 16:19 Aspect Ratio (Presentation 16:9Ìýlayout in Canva works best) Vertical designs don't work well because tv monitors are horizontal. If you used Canva, you can resize (or "copy & resize").
Ìý
Design Tips:
  • Stay within the designated border perimeter within Canva so that your information is not cut off. The floating pink border indicates this parameter.
  • Use large text - 90+ pt font allows people to see the words as they walk down the hallway.
  • QR codes rather than email addresses or URLs allows people to quickly access more details using their phone camera.
