Loan Periods

Most items are initially checked out for 4, 8, or 16 weeks, depending on the status of the patron.

  • Faculty/Staff (current and retired) -- 16 weeks
  • Graduate Students -- 8 weeks
  • Undergraduate students & Community borrowers -- 4 weeks
  • Branch library lending policies vary

  • Returning Items

At Malpass Library, items may be returned to the outside bookdrop on Western Avenue, the bookdrop inside the north lobby, or the Access Services counter. The Quad Cities Library has a bookdrop near each entrance and the Curriculum Library has a return slot near the library entrance. Materials may be returned to any °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Library, regardless of where they were checked out. The circulation system generates and e-mails the user a receipt for each returned item.
