What is an Advisor?
What is an Advisor?
Advisors are an important asset to a chapter’s success, they can include a faculty/staff member or chapter alumni/graduate advisor. Advisors provide leadership and guidance to the chapter as a whole, including the executive board. The advisor provides coherence to the organization as the membership and officers change. An advisor should be familiar with the policies and regulations of the chapter, inter/national organization, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼, and relevant state and federal laws.
The role of an advisor is to assist with leadership positions to understand the responsibility they share while in their positions. As well as helping the chapter use their best judgment in selecting programs and hosting events. And most importantly providing an outlet for students to talk to about their role in the FSL community, classes, and everyday obstacles students may face.
