Robert Fields Employee of the Year 2013Civil Service Employee of the Year 2013 - Robert Fields

Robert A. Fields II, a Parking Services Agent II in the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Office of Public Safety has been named the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for December.

In addition, Fields was also recently named the 2013 Civil Service Employee of the year.

Fields was hired in August 2007 as a trainee for a Parking Services Agent II. He completed the training for his current position in August 2008. During layoff periods, Fields worked as a grounds worker from May 2008 – August 2011.

According to Fields' nominator, the first thing anyone notices about him is his smile and his kind words. Other examples of his acts of kindness, his nominator said, include giving money for food to a student who had run out and paying for gasoline for a student who forgot her purse.

"He embodies the phrase pay it forward," his nominator said. "His positive attitude and willingness to help people go above and beyond what is expected of an employee. His smile is infections, his greeting is always sincere and his desire to help others is always genuine. Robert presents a positive image for Parking Services and the University as a whole."

In August 2010, the Goldfarbs established an endowment to permanently fund the University's Civil Service Employee of the Month award. The Goldfarb endowment is used to fund a $100 award for the recipient of the Civil Service Employee of the Month, as well as a plaque.

For his employee of the year award, Fields was also awarded an engraved clock and $500 from the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¼Ç¼ Foundation.
